Mom knows best

After my last post it seemed like I didn't like work or school...time to correct that! If you haven't heard by now for the past two years I have been working at an association management company. All who know me have heard how much I love every aspect of my job! This job is what helps me stay grounded during the crazy life I live. As for school, I only like it when I don't have a lot of homework or long days at work. I enjoy the challenges and flexibility from my professors but whoever thought going back to school and working full time was smart, didn't have a social life like me.

The picture above is from my 24th bday party with my two of my amazing coworker's/friends (Molly & Kristen). The second picture is of the couple getting hitched this coming weekend plus the M.O.H.

My wrist hurts

Let's see what is going on in my life......work, school, babysitting, and fixing up my house. The two things I'd rather do then the other two babysitting and fixing up my house. I love being able to play with kids and getting to know them. I also love having weekend projects at my house!

This weekend I decided that since everyone was out of town I would get dirty and start exposing the brick wall even more at my new place. It was a great idea until this evening when my wrist started hurting and my fingers are sore from using the hammer to much.

I left my house excited that the brick wall was done but disappointed in the fact that the CAC system will have to take up more living room space if I want decent air in the bedrooms. On Saturday I took a visit to Lowe's to design my kitchen and it was so exciting until I got the price tag. Right now I am going to focus on creating the master bathroom and getting CAC in the house before I tackle the upgrading of the kitchen.

Tomorrow I will start looking for the following:
a plumber, someone to repoint the bricks, someone to carry the trash away, and someone to frame up the bathroom....any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Otherwise I will have to learn how to do all of it myself-which I don't mind.

Later on this week I am off to Nebraska for a wedding, so unfortunately there will not be any progress pictures for another two weeks (probably).

The picture of my house the first time I ever saw it. First thought those A/c units must go and I need pretty stained glass windows.

The back yard that I hope will sometime soon be a parking pad and a nice gathering place for friends and a pond.

The one and only bathroom in the house. I hope to add another one soon!

The kitchen before updating it. Underneath the ceiling tiles I found awesome tin.

The master bedroom w/den.

The adorable guest bedroom.

Looking to the front of the house before destruction.

The otherside of the living room.

Let the fun begin of tearing things up. Notice there is no window above the door.

Now there is a window that was hidden and my lovely job of exposing brick (1/10th done).

Until next time...have a great week!

WOW

I did, I actually did it. I bought a house in Baltimore! Follow along as I write about my journey in being a home owner in the city of Baltimore.
I'm still in shock that someone thought I was responsible enough to own a house. I have a hard enough time balancing work, grad school, and a social life. Now my routine must change and I add on taking care of my home.
Things I love so far about being a homeowner:
-It's all mine (no one else helped me pay for it)
-I can do whatever I want (paint the kitchen like my vera bradley pattern)
-I finally have weekend projects that I love, no more what I would like to build when I buy a house

I look forward to the memories being made in this house and becoming an adult. I am so thankful to have an amazing family in Richmond and friends in Baltimore that will be there when I need guidance.

p.s. don't forget to come visit!!
