the to do list is getting shorter!

Well it's the 7th month of owning my shack...here's the latest! With more updates to come on Monday after I make my "To Do" list smaller.

this used to be the tacky window transom above my front door...gold numbers and all

This is the latest and greatest addition to my house...the new transom above the front door!

Last week I had the chance to go out to California to visit an old YCP/sorority sister...Erica.

The new red rug for the dining room.

Because I have amazing friends who like to help paint...Jen(Little) decided to join the group on day two-the painting of red and day one was painting the walls gray. THANK YOU TO ALL MY AMAZING FRIENDS WITH PAINTING!!! I owe you all a delicious baked good :-)

Taking a little break on the Santa Monica Pier!

The kitchen pre-painiting.
Hope everyone has a great weekend...stay warm!

p.s. this is proof that my garden is still alive.

It's finally becoming a home

Enough is enough...enough dust..enough procrastination...enough of school....enough of hot weather...bring on my awesome job w/Friday's off at 1pm....bring on friends visiting....bring on determination to get thru my overwhelmed life.
The new stain glass window that I designed.
My new dinner table that expands to seat 6 people...come over for a meal.
The soon to be "gone backdoor" with Andy's window frosting done this past weekend.
My garden has grown and the rats no longer touch it. I suggest looking at old blogs to see the garden in the beginning.
The laundry room in the basement
the basement bomb shelter....soon to be guest bedroom
The guest bedroom
the other wall in the guest bedroom
I was bored on a Friday night before going out so I decided to take up the carpet on the stairs.
The living room with my new furniture (the baby glider at the window will be replaced soon with a big comfy chair.

I'm so behind

Here are some quick updated pictures of my house.....anything from before drywall to after drywall...from no skylight in guest bathroom to skylight....from ugly window with large a/c unit to beautiful window waiting for stainglass.

Enjoy and I look forward to the day when my lovely couch seen in the first picture below on its side covered in plastic can be used.
